Ur-Shard
At first glance, Ur-Shard appears to be a much weaker version of Vlaric Shard. While both Battlegear give the equipped Creature Earth 5, Ur-Shard has the unfortunate drawback of giving the equipped Creature Recklessness 5 as well. You can turn Ur-Shard's drawbacks into advantages with just a little planning. Ur-Shard has another ability -- if your Creature who is equipped with Ur-Shard loses the battle, then Ur-Shard attaches itself to the opposing engaged Creature (destroying any Battlegear on the opposing Creature in the process). Use the Mugic Card Gear Glissando to switch Ur-Shard onto one of your Creatures that is about to lose combat. That way, your opponent will be forced to equip the Ur-Shard to theirengaged Creature, making that Creature much easier to beat the next time you fight it.
