Vuvuzelas Banned From European Soccer Games

During this year's World Cup tournament, you might have noticed a new sensation sweeping the soccer competition -- vuvuzelas! A vuvuzela is a long, skinny horn that originates from South Africa. Although many people enjoyed playing vuvuzelas at the World Cup, the sound wasn't always welcome. (The sound has been compared to a big swarm of bees!) Recently, the horns were been banned from European soccer games because officials don't want the sound of the vuvuzelas to drown out the audience.

What do you think about this decision?

I like them. Yet it might be a good idea since a stadium of then playing in unison sound just like a killer bee swarm.

I guess it could distract the players, but they play a lot of soccer with thousands of people screaming. I think they are trained to tune that kind of stuff out. Those things would get annoying, though.

Wow! I would've banned them, too. The very sound of anything like bees makes me panic! :P Though, like tmnt154 says, I'm sure it was probably distracting to the players.
