A scuba diver named Reed Banjanin was recently exploring a spring in Florida. He was diving near the entrance to a cave when he found a shiny object. It was a gold class ring from the year 1923! The name Louise Hearst was inscribed on the inside of the ring. She bought it after graduating from Mississippi Women’s College, which is now known as William Carey University.

Amazingly, the 79-year-old ring is in perfect condition. Banjanin was able to contact the owner’s family and return the ring to them. They live 800 miles away from where the object was found! It is thought that Hearst originally lost the class ring while swimming in the spring when she was visiting family in Florida. It has been missing since the 1930s.
