Scientists Find Earth-Like Planet
Posted 12/6/2011 by Kyle
For the first time ever, scientists have confirmed the existence of an alien planet in a “habitable zone,” which means it is located in a place that could support life. Known as Kepler-22b, this planet is located 600 light-years from us and is about 2.4 times bigger than Earth.
Although it is much bigger than our planet, it is similar to Earth in temperature and distance from the sun it orbits. Experts think that Kepler-22b should have a pleasant temperature and could possibly contain liquid water. Since water is necessary for life forms to exist, it is possible that Kepler-22b is also home to alien life!
What would you have named this planet?
