Scientists have just announced that Martian meteorites entered the Earth’s atmosphere six months ago. Not only is this a rare occurrence, people actually witnessed the event. A fireball was spotted in the sky last July but the rocks weren’t found on the ground until December. They landed in Africa and scientists have confirmed they are from Mars!

Experts are hoping to study the Martian rocks and learn more about possible life on the Red Planet. At least 15 pounds of meteorite have been collected so far. The Martian objects are considered even more rare and valuable than gold.
