Mars Rover Losing Its Memory

The Mars Exploration Rover known as Spirit has been experiencing some memory problems since October 24. Spirit usually records its day's activities onto flash memory and then takes a break. This break is similar to sleep and the robot can usually retain its flash memory when it wakes up. However, it has been losing this memory recently. Surprisingly, Spirit is in pretty good health otherwise. The Rover has been stuck in a patch of soft, Martian soil since April but has still collected data for NASA.

What do you think will happen to Spirit?

that's kinda freaky, but i don't think anything is really gonna happen, NASA will probably lose a few records about what it's doing right now, but that's all.

I doubt anything will happen to Spirit. It is probably a glitch that will fix itself in a few weeks.

like Agrotera said, more then likely there's dirt inside of it. and in response to Ibsonic, i highly doubt that it will explode, if anything it will proly eventually die and sit on mars until humans reach it.

It has been on mars for about 1000 Martian days (A Martian day is 24 hours 39 minutes and 35 seconds)
