‘Lost World’ of Sea Creatures Discovered

Scientists recently found what they are calling a “lost world” near Antarctica. While exploring some deep-sea vents in the area for the first time, they’ve found some amazing creatures! There are so many newly discovered species there that experts are saying it’s almost like a different planet.

From aggressive starfish to hairy-chested yeti crabs, the sea life in this remote area is very interesting. Since there is no sunlight in these deep-sea vents, energy comes from the warmth of the Earth’s oceanic crust. The lack of sunlight makes the animals appear different, such as albino octopi.
