What do you get when you cross a male lion with a female tiger? A hybrid animal called a "liger." Two ligers were recently born in a Taiwanese zoo. There are only 10 known ligers in the world today, making them an extremely rare breed of animal. When fully grown, the liger is the largest type of cat in the world! In fact, there is one called Hercules that weighs a whopping 900 pounds and eats 100 pounds of meat a day.
What would you name the two liger cubs?
Pictured left is liger. As you can see, it appears like a lion with tiger stripes!
