The planets will align in a very unique way this week and on Monday night, you will be able to see what is called Earthshine. Also known as a Da Vinci glow, Earthshine is when sunlight is reflected off the Earth and onto the dark side of the moon.

The result is a very strange glow. The entire moon is lit up but not evenly like a full moon. This phenomenon is named after Leonardo Da Vinci, who discovered the cause of Earthshine in the 16th century.

Both Jupiter and Venus will also be making a bold appearance in the night sky this week. Venus will be visible to the left of the crescent moon as nightfall begins and Jupiter can be found above that in the constellation Pisces.

What is the coolest thing you’ve ever spotted in the sky?
